The is an area where cars and truck is king and fuel is cheap, often leaving little reward to find more environmentally-friendly methods of moving.

But this year, as protests across the Middle East have actually risen the rate of oil, the concern of discovering alternative sources of fuel has entered into sharp focus.

In an area that has among the highest carbon footprints worldwide, one organization is making the most of the growing pressure to discover alternatives to oil. It's set up the Middle East's first plan to recycle cooking oil into biodiesel. It's showing lucrative too, currently their client-list consists of McDonald's.
